A thrilling day of quarterfinals is over, and four teams’ hopes of winning an AAU National Championship are still alive. These three players helped push their team over the top and advance to the semifinals:
A day after collecting a hat-trick against Penn State Harrisburg, Jacke Slayton netted a pair against South Florida to push High Point to victory. Slayton is tied with MTSU’s Matthew Siciliano for first in goals in the tournament.
Jake Murphy takes our second star after contributing three points in Florida Atlantic’s 5-1 win over Farmingdale State. Each of Murphy’s points was crucial to the Owls, with his first goal standing up as the game-winner. Murphy has eight points (4 goals & 4 assists) in four tournament games for FAU.
Brendan Ogle rounds out our three stars after scoring twice on Friday evening. The Blue Raiders upended the second-seeded Bishop’s University Gaiters 5-2 largely due to Ogle’s goals in the second period. All three stars were responsible for the game-winning goal for their respective clubs.
